L was for Love. P is for Petite Chérie

It may be over but my routine remains. Rise out of bed, direction coffee and before I quit the house, around my neck I place my Delphine Pariente. A daily reminder of us, of our days, of Paris.

Engraved discs of plated 18carat gold, « Oui» « Encore» «Mon trésor »«Paris » or personalised if you so please.

Wish to marvel at these jewels for yourself ? Her boutique of bijoux resides at 8 Rue de Turenne, 75004

You know you are in Paris....

When you stumble upon....

Young boys attending lectures, full suit + briefcase intact.
Mademoiselles going to breakfast, poised in heels + red lips.
Empty vodka bottles casually discarded under a tree at a musical festival, alongside philosophy books.

Where the 'worms are at.

Forget 50 Shades, this is where the real must-reads are at. The newest release by Marc Jacobs just launched in the heart of our fairytale city. A saturday stroll to Saint Honoré is BookMarc'd in my diary,
this idea has best-seller written all over it.

57

Whoever said money can not buy happiness simply did not know where to shop, or when. If next week's Paris Haute Couture does not put enough of a twinkle in your eye, Valentino's launch surely will. Their Va-Va-Voom bag, now in « So Black » will be gracing the shelves of  Montaigne Market, each piece numbered for your pleasure. But these buddles of joy shall be few and far between, gracing the arms of only 57 pearly-white smiles.

Rendez-vous SVP. Where ? 26th January. Montaigne Market, 57 Avenue Montaigne, 75008.

a little Egoïsm builds character.

5 years of patience preluded Issue 16, it may be only 8 months later but I am starving for the next serving. For a lifespan of  thirty-five years, sixteen editions may not sound too satisfying to you readers, but Egoïste serves up more than the average portion. What is the difference between a magazine and Egoïste ? Glad you asked. Any glossy in town can create a day's worth of buzz, but when an editor births an Egoïste-standard masterpiece, it will take generations to sizzle out.

To her parisienne chamber, editor Nicole Wisniak lures the moguls of Cartier, Hermès and Chanel, to name but a few. Cleaning their slates, she pens her own adverts, trading Louis V a polar bear for Angelina Jolie. Risky business you say ? With the stroke of her brush on your side, the risk is worth the pay-off .

Premature perhaps but I'd rather be prepared, a lady in waiting for Egoïste no.17. Where? A flower-trellised cobble-stoned courtyard leads to my favourite vendor, Yellow Korner, 8 Rue Francs Bourgeois, 75004. And whilst we Egoïstes wait, look beyond the end of your nose, there is plenty more to marvel at inside these doors.

P.S. If you aren't already sold, the last issue is already worth double it's original 35€ pricetag. A copy from the 70's ? That will be a 1000€ please. Guaranteed investment.

« The young need discipline and a full bookcase »

so says Dame Vivienne Westwood.
Today spells a return to the books, the start of another term of school. Self-mastery teaches us to never ride on coattails, count yourself privileged you can work to achieve what you wish to achieve.
They say a dream is just a dream, but I say it can become reality.
